New cooling device disposal plant in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern
The Bavarian plant engineering company URT Umwelt- und Recyclingtechnik GmbH, located in Karlstadt, has received an order for the construction of a cooling device disposal plant.
The plant, which will be installed in Rehna, a town in Northern Germany, is especially designed for the proper disposal of mainly commercial refrigeration equipment. The plant capacity amounts to approx. 6,000 tons per year and will fulfill the requirements of the Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act (ElektroG) and DIN EN 50574. A BImSchG approval for construction of the facility is already available.
This cooling device disposal plant will be operated by the company KLINK - Entsorgung e.K., a recycling company, which is active for 25 years in the field of commercial refrigeration equipment disposal. The new location of the plant has a better transport infrastructure than the previous location in Benzin and will replace the present predominantly manual disassembly. The recycling plant will be installed in the first quarter 2017.
This disposal plant is closing an existing gap within the cooling equipment disposal, since still many commercial cooling devices and polyurethane insulated sandwich panels, at least for treatment step II (foam degassing) are ending up at the car shredder.
