Case Study

E. Flückiger AG

E. Flückiger AG operates an end-of-life refrigerator recycling plant engineered and commissioned by URT at their Rohtrist facility. Designed as a brownfield solution, the plant replaces a previous URT installation and was precisely adapted to the existing building structure. Operating at a capacity of 4 t/h, the process applies VHC + VFC recovery recycling with activated carbon adsorption, ensuring compliant and safe blowing agent recovery.

Project Description

At the Rothrist site, E. Flückiger AG operates an end-of-life refrigerator recycling plant engineered and commissioned by URT. The facility is designed for the treatment of household and commercial cooling devices.

The plant replaces a previous URT installation and was engineered as a brownfield solution. The layout was specifically adapted to the existing building structure, requiring precise integration into the available space.

With a processing capacity of up to 4 tonnes per hour, the plant is designed for continuous industrial operation. The process is based on VHC + VFC recovery recycling. Blowing agents are recovered via activated carbon adsorption. Inertisation in shredding and PUR-matrix degassing ensures controlled and safe gas handling during processing.
