REMONDIS Electrorecycling GmbH

REMONDIS Electrorecycling GmbH operates an end-of-life refrigerator recycling plant engineered and commissioned by URT in Rehna, Germany. Processing household and commercial cooling devices at 3 t/h, the plant features a distinctive nitrogen supply concept based on air separation rather than liquid nitrogen. An optional heavy fraction separation unit enables flexible adaptation to market requirements.

Key Facts:
  • Nitrogen supply via air separation system instead of liquid nitrogen tank; optional heavy fraction separation as add-on

Project Description

REMONDIS Electrorecycling GmbH operates an end-of-life refrigerator recycling plant engineered and commissioned by URT. The plant is configured for a processing capacity of 3 tonnes per hour. The process is based on VHC + VFC recovery recycling. Blowing agents are recovered under controlled and safe conditions, and inertisation in shredding and PUR-matrix degassing ensures stable gas handling during operation.

A particular feature of this installation is the nitrogen supply concept. Instead of using liquid nitrogen from a tank, the plant was designed with nitrogen generation based on an air separation system. In addition, the plant can be equipped with an optional heavy fraction separation unit to further separate mixed non-ferrous fractions depending on market requirements.
