ERLOS Produktion und Montagen GmbH

ERLOS Produktion und Montagen GmbH operates a lithium-ion battery recycling plant engineered and commissioned by URT in Schönfels, Germany. Processing batteries including LFP chemistry at 1 t/h, the plant applies thermomechanical treatment under inert conditions with black mass recovery exceeding 98%. This installation is one of URT’s first industrial applications for LFP battery processing.

Project Description

ERLOS Produktion und Montagen GmbH operates a lithium-ion battery recycling plant engineered and commissioned by URT. The facility is designed for the processing of lithium-ion batteries under industrial operating conditions.

The plant is configured for a processing capacity of 1 tonne per hour. The process is based on thermomechanical treatment under inert conditions, including mechanical shredding, vacuum distillation drying and downstream separation into defined output fractions such as black mass, aluminium, copper and steel. Black mass recovery exceeds 98%.

A particular feature of this installation is the processing of lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries, representing one of the first industrial applications of this battery chemistry within URT’s plant portfolio.
