RE.LION.BAT. Circular GmbH
- Greenfield project with plant-integrated building design

Project Data
Project Description
Re.Lion.Bat Circular GmbH operates one of the largest lithium-ion battery recycling plants in Europe, engineered and commissioned by URT. The facility is designed for the processing of lithium-ion batteries from electric vehicles, stationary storage systems and consumer batteries under continuous industrial operating conditions.
The plant is configured for a processing capacity of 4 tonnes per hour. Batteries are mechanically processed under a nitrogen atmosphere, followed by vacuum drying for controlled removal and condensation of volatile components. The dried material is subsequently separated into defined output fractions, including ferrous and non-ferrous metals, plastics and black mass with recovery rates exceeding 98%.
The plant was implemented in a purpose-built facility, with the building layout designed around the process requirements. This greenfield project forms the basis for URT’s current standardised plant design.
